Man arrested for allegedly breaking deputy's jaw

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office didn't release the story for several days

A Collinsville man was arrested last week after investigators say he attacked a lieutenant with the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office and broke his jaw.

Justin Scott Perigo remains jailed on nine complaints, including assaulting a police officer and public intoxication.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Lt. Paul Mader saw two men pushing a car into a driveway in a rural area near Coweta and stopped to check on them last Thursday.

A witness who had been helping push the car grabbed Perigo when Mader blacked out briefly, and helped hold him until help arrived.

Perigo reportedly became extremely belligerent, poking Mader in the chest and then attacking him with several blows to the face.

Even with additional deputies on the scene, Perigo apparently kept fighting.

Perrigo was arrested by Broken Arrow police in 2011 for domestic assault and battery and public intoxication.

He was convicted and received a one-year suspended sentence.

KRMG called Wagoner County for additional details, but we were told only the Undersheriff could comment, and he had left for the day.

We were also told they had not planned on releasing the story, but decided to do so after receiving inquiries from Tulsa media.

A local newspaper did carry an account of the incident the day it happened.
