A school in south Tulsa was placed on lockdown before 1:00 P.M. Thursday. That lockdown ended just before 3.
Many parents showed up at Metro Christian Academy, near 61st and Peoria, to find the gate locked.
Parents KRMG spoke with say the only communication they initially had was an email stating that MCA was on lockdown.
School leaders first told KRMG the lockdown started because of “suspicious activity.”
That email, KRMG is told, contained no details.
Tulsa Police confirmed that a .22 caliber bullet was found.
That bullet was found on the ground in a hallway of the school by a student.
TPD officers and a canine searched the school including all the lockers.
There were no firearms or additional bullets that were found during the search.
Just before 3 p.m., KRMG learned that elementary students followed by middle and high school students were dismissed from the school.
