Local shop offers classes on growing medical marijuana

A gardening supply shop in Sand Springs is offering free classes on how to grow medical marijuana.

Angie Goins owns GrowPro and she wants people to understand cannabis is a medicine and can be a safer alternative to other drugs.

“I do genuinely believe there are purposes for medications,” Goins said.  “It’s just very hard to see people not acting like themselves at the end of their life because they are having counter actions from their morphine or their Ativan.”

The classes are held Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m.

KRMG’s told a majority of the people who attend the classes are disabled veterans who have post-traumatic stress disorder or permanent pain from injuries.  Goins says younger people who suffer from epilepsy and Parkinson's disease attend as well.

For reference, the shop doesn't sell marijuana seeds.
