Local parent enlightened to drug buying, selling on Snapchat

A local parent received a rude awakening recently when a friend of one of his children called him to express concern that people on his child's Snapchat account were selling drugs on the app.

The father says he went on the account and was floored by his discovery. He found pictures of marijuana, Xanax and guns, along with messages advertising prices and personal conversations about buying marijuana and mushrooms.

"At first, I didn't want to believe it," the father said. "Then I saw the pictures. The proof is in the pictures."

Anyone with knowledge of local drug activity on Snapchat is asked to call their local police departments.

The pictures have been turned over to police in Bixby, Jenks and Sapulpa. Investigators add using a phone to sell drugs is a felony.
