Legal marijuana could be as close as Arkansas

Arkansans for Medical Cannabis want to amend the state constitution to legalize marijuana.

Members of the group submitted a revised plan on Friday for approval by Dustin McDaniel, the state attorney general.

McDaniel rejected the group's first proposal sent to him in July 2013.   He said that the wording in the proposal was ambiguous.

The measure must be certified by McDaniel before the group can begin gathering signatures in an effort to qualify for a spot on the 2014 ballot.

The proposed ballot measure would leave it to voters to decide whether to legalize marijuana, including for medical, industrial and recreational use.
