Lawsuit filed to stop Oklahoma 'permitless carry' law

OKLAHOMA CITY — There's a new effort to stop the 'permitless carry' law in Oklahoma.

Democratic State Representative Jason Lowe, of Oklahoma City, filed a lawsuit Monday.

The suit argues that the law violates a constitutional requirement that bills deal with only one subject matter.

The law, that will allow people to carry firearms without a background check or training, is set to take effect November 1st.

Lowe and other advocates for tighter gun laws already fell short of gathering enough signatures to send the issue to a vote of the people.
