The man is Coffee County Tennessee Commissioner Barry West.
The post was taken down quickly and West sent an email saying "I did not Twitter this … no I did not create this picture … yes I shared it … so why am I being singled out?"
Sabina Mohyuddin is a Muslim living in Coffee County, she told USA Today “that gun was pointed at me and my family."
Pennington pointed out West's Facebook post should not be how people judge Coffee County.
Mayor David Pennington posted on the Coffee County website in an attempt to quiet the situation.
He added "I have no control on what a commissioner does when he leaves the commission meeting, I have no idea why he did it."
