KRMG Extreme Weather Alert: Cold snap looming for Tulsa

Re-enforcing shot of colder air arriving Friday afternoon, night

It is a stout cold front that has already entered the northwestern part of Oklahoma and it is rapidly moving in our direction.

News On 6 Meteorologist Alan Crone tells us that some of the high resolution computer model data indicates that the front will slow down just a little bit around the one o'clock to two o'clock hour and then finally pass our area early this afternoon.

If that is the case, we still should be able to hit the lower 80's, but then it will be much colder air tonight.

The net impact means that Friday's and Saturday's highs will be in the 50's.

We also have a re-enforcing shot of colder air that will be arriving Friday afternoon and Friday night.

Morning lows will be in the upper 40's and lower 50's.

The colder air will leave our area by Sunday mid day and we will warm back up early next week.
