KRMG talked to the Governor about multiple topics, including immigration, marijuana, education spending, and religious monuments on state property.
During the conversation, KRMG Morning News host Dan Potter asked the Governor why she decided to tour the state.
“I’m not taking the race for granted at all” Fallin began. “In fact, I’ve told everybody I’m running as though I’m only one point ahead,” she continued.
When KRMG asked about the state of education in Oklahoma, Fallin said it’s not as bad as you might think, especially when it comes to funding.

“This year education got the largest funding increase of all the agencies that needed money.”
During the interview, the conversation turned to the immigrant children who were housed at Ft. Sill. Those kids are no longer at the base, but KRMG was shocked to find out many of them are still in the state.
“There are about 212 of the migrant children who were released to someone in Oklahoma,” she began. Fallin was stunned when she asked her next question. “I said are the legal or illegal, and they said ‘”we can’t tell you that, it’s a privacy issue.’”
Fallin said there is a possibility of Ft. Sill being used to house immigrant kids again, but told us she would fight against it.
Governor Fallin will face several candidates, including Democratic representative Joe Dorman in the general election on November 4th.
