Junior high coach accused of throwing baseballs at players

A junior high school coach was charged on Tuesday with seven counts of injury to a minor child.

Bryan County court records show Roy West is accused of throwing baseballs at players he deemed were underperforming.

The Silo Junior High School coach is said to have hit players with balls on the arm, back, lower torso, and legs.

Court records show he was taken into custody, but was released on personal recognizance bond.

West will be in court on Oct. 17.
