But the groom, an Army combat engineer, took off after the guy.

Joplin, Missouri, police officers were investigating a nearby accident and caught the suspect.

Jared Lightle ran after the crook yelling "Stop! Thief! Stop."

Lightle and wife Stephanie had a courthouse wedding before he deployed to Afghanistan a year ago.

They planned a traditional ceremony and reception for when he returned.
