Jenks man arrested after high-speed chase

Jenks, Okla. — A man is arrested in Jenks for eluding a Tulsa County deputy and for a drug warrant out of Okmulgee County.

A Tulsa County deputy tried to stop 25-year old Nicholas High for having improper lights on trailer as he drove near 5500 South Peoria Avenue around 2 a.m. Monday.

High is accused of leading the deputy on a high-speed chase, up to 80 miles per hour, to a residence where he tried to hide in a boat.

The residence was his girlfriend's house, where he wanted to tell her that he was going to jail.

Tulsa County Sheriff’s Captain John Bryant said, “The deputy noticed that the boat was moving and shaking and then saw a couple of feet sticking out of the boat.”

We’re told deputies recovered controlled drugs and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle.
