A father is accused of leaving an infant alone in a vehicle, so he could have a drink and a smoke.
Oklahoma City police say the officer found the child early Tuesday morning in a La Quinta Inn parking lot. The infant was sleeping in the backseat.
The officer called for help and then waited for Christopher Lorenz to return to his vehicle. Police say he was arrested after emerging from the hotel bar.
Police say Lorenz was taken to the Oklahoma County Jail. He faces a count of child neglect.
A bartender told police Lorenz went into the bar and had a double vodka-Red Bull and a smoke.
The infant was taken into DHS custody.
