Homeowner shoots and kills man breaking into his Tulsa home

A Tulsa home invasion results in the shooting death of an intruder.

It happened around 11:15 Wednesday morning near North Harvard Avenue and East Independence Street.

Police say three men kicked in the homeowner's door.

The suspects fled, but one of them collapsed from a gunshot wound and died about a block away.

Tulsa Police Sgt. Dave Walker says the would-be burglars and the homeowner exchanged gunfire.

The suspect was reportedly armed with a shotgun.

The homeowner, who shot the intruder with a hand gun, was not injured.
