The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and the Enid Police Department just ended an 8-month drug trafficking investigation.
Investigators served search and arrest warrants on several houses.
OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward says agents and officers from several departments fanned out around 6:00 Thursday morning armed with three search warrants and 34 arrest warrants in Garfield County.
Woodward says the group would traffic as much as two pounds of crystal meth and several ounces of heroin into Enid every week.
Woodward says, "In August of 2013, OBN and the Enid Police Department began investigating a large drug trafficking ring in Enid. This group of defendants would import significant quantities of crystal methamphetamine or 'ICE', heroin, marijuana and prescription drugs into the Enid area to supply local dealers and users."
OBN Director Darrell Weaver says, “This warrant sweep is dismantling a significant methamphetamine ring that trafficked substantial amounts of crystal meth into northwest Oklahoma, primarily the Enid area. This horrible substance ruins lives daily in Oklahoma and is no respecter of persons. It affects the young and the old, and we must keep vigilant in our pursuit of the individuals who are bent on supplying meth to our citizens and making profit on their pain."
Thirty suspects were taken to the Garfield County Jail and face a variety of charges.
More arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
