The Oklahoma State Board of Health is scheduled to meet partly in executive session to discuss the ongoing investigation of Tulsa oral surgeon Dr. Scott Harrington, who was at the center of a public health scare involving thousands of his patients.
The meeting will take place in Oklahoma City this morning.
The executive session is scheduled as the second-to-last item on the agenda, and a spokeswoman with the agency could not comment on what specifically would be discussed.
The Tulsa Health Department says it had tested nearly 4,000 patients as of May 9, and had confirmed 70 cases of Hepatitis C.
Health officials urged roughly 7,000 patients to be tested for Hepatitis B, C and HIV after his Tulsa and Owasso clinics were found to have unsanitary conditions.
Harrington's attorney says his client is cooperating with the investigation and says his record with the state's board of dentistry is "impeccable."
