Governor's office approves federal disaster assistance

So far, 16 Oklahoma counties have been approved for federal disaster assistance after being hit by May tornadoes and storms.

Governor Mary Fallin's office say Atoka, Canadian, Coal, Hughes, Latimer, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Pittsburg, Pushmataha and Seminole counties have all been granted assistance.

There was also additional aid granted to Cleveland, Lincoln, McClain, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie counties.  These counties are already receiving federal assistance.

The tornadoes and storms hit between May 18 and June 2nd.
