Around 9:00 Monday morning, students all over Oklahoma were in the middle of their end of the year testing when it came to a screeching halt.
Maridyth McBee, with the Oklahoma Department of Education says, “This is very unfortunate. Even though we’re near the end of the window for grades three through eight, we’re in the middle of the window for the high school.”
McBee says the testing provider had a technical problem.
She tells KRMG, "I did just get word that they think that they'll be back up for tomorrow."
The company believes they may have found the issue.
Still, teachers and students have lost a day of testing.
McBee says school leaders have come up with a solution, although it may not be convenient.
“We’re going to provide them an equivalent test so that they’ll be able to take the test and get their complete score.”
McBee says some of the districts may have already completed the tests before the glitch.
