Gas price changes three times in one day

KRMG spotted a sign at the QuikTrip at I-44 and Peoria Tuesday afternoon that showed a regular gallon of gasoline was around $3.39.

Monday the average price was it’ll cost you $3.29 at many places in the Tulsa area.

Many listeners reported they spotted lower prices than yesterday.

Each time was a penny lower.

A manager at the QuikTrip on Peoria says they changed the sign three times in one day.

The $3.39 price was briefly posted in the confusion.

Oil production is increasing in the U.S. faster than ever and drivers are guzzling less gas.

Oil output rose 14 percent to 6.5 million barrels per day last year. That’s a record increase.

Meanwhile, the price at the pump continues on a rollercoaster ride.

Experts say the laws of supply and demand are actually working.

American drivers are competing with drivers worldwide for every gallon of gasoline.

Developing economies like Asia and Latin America are expanding and their energy consumption is rising, which puts pressure on fuel supplies and prices everywhere else.
