Over the last few days, the weather pattern has been favorable for warm air, but later tonight things will change dramatically.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch in effect Thursday night into Friday morning.
News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone tells us that an upper air system will bring a cold front into the area tonight and this will set the stage for much colder air tomorrow.
There is the potential that the cold temperatures could be record-setting.
It will be chilly Friday before we rebound over the weekend.
National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Piltz says, "We're actually having to seriously make decisions on whether we put freezing rain, sleet or snow in some of our forecasts."
If we do get snow, Piltz says it would be a record.
"We've had some of our biggest snows in Tulsa in middle to late March. But I believe April 18th is the last time in a season we've had frozen precipitaion fall."
Either way, it is about to get cold with lows near freezing as the weekend approaches.
