Free gun permit class offered for area teachers

Organization also pushing for legislative reform

The recent school violence has prompted new offers encouraging teachers to carry a gun.

New ideas are popping up weekly.

Last week a Tulsa shooting range came forward to offer free shooting classes.

Now, the Oklahoma Second Amendment Association will hold free permit classes in Tulsa on Saturday, February 9.

Hundreds of teachers were there on Saturday to sign up.

Members of the association say they want teachers and school employees to have a greater peace of mind and a greater ability to defend themselves.

The organization is also pushing for legislative reform.

The classes in Tulsa will be held at the Second Amendment Shooting Center at Spirit Life Church at 55th and Peoria.
