Former presidential candidate Rick Santorum comes to Tulsa to endorse Dewey Bartlett

Rick Santorum is in Tulsa to endorse Dewey Bartlett for mayor of Tulsa.

Santorum gave a speech late Thursday afternoon at the Tulsa Press Club.

Santorum says he stands with anyone who is for smaller government on every level.

Santorum was a Republican candidate for President in 2012.

The 55-year-old Santorum is a former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania. He was the chairman of the Senate Republican Conference.

KRMG reached out to Bartlett's opponent, former Mayor Kathy Taylor.

Taylor says its fine for Bartlett to pick up endorsement from national Republicans. She is endorsed by working families in Tulsa as well as the Tulsa police and fire unions.

Taylor's campaign manager Monroe Nichols says, "At a time when rape is up in Tulsa, it is shocking that Dewey Bartlett would bring a DC politician with an abysmal record on women’s issues here to try to tell Tulsans what is important to them."
