Former postal service employee sentenced in Tulsa

A woman will be spending the next five month in prison for her part in a scheme to steal marijuana from packages at a mail sorting facility here in Oklahoma.

Court records show 47-year-old Laura Campbell pleaded guilty to conspiracy under a plea bargain in February and has been sentenced to five months this week.

Tulsa World reports Campbell was a U.S. Postal Service worker at the Tulsa Center and her bosses were tipped off she and a second employee were taking drugs from packages. When officers searched her home, they found over 10 pounds of marijuana.

Her accomplice, Derek Miller, has already confessed to stealing drugs from packages since 2015.  Miller received a suspended sentence.
