Firefighter uses beer to put out blazing truck

Coors tallboys worked very well

Fire Capt. Craig Moreau was off duty when he saw an 18-wheeler on the side of the road, on fire.

"The rear brakes had locked up and were flaming pretty good," Moreau wrote on Facebook.

He stopped to help but a little fire extinguisher didn’t do the trick. Moreau then quickly found there was no water to put on the fire.

When Moreau found out the driver was carrying Coors he grabbed cans and began to shake them like crazy.

So he took the next best option, beer.

The driver joined in and before long the fire was under control and the roadway was covered with barley pop.

"I shook them up, and popped a top one at a time until the fire was out and the brakes were cool," Moreau wrote. "Thankfully they were tallboys. I couldn’t help but laugh at the irony of it all, he was so shaken up that the humor escaped him."
