Fire destroys home, cars in garage near 6200 South Richmond Avenue early Monday

Tulsa, Okla. — A fire in a garage spreads to the roof of a large home near 61st and South Richmond.

A man was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire in the garage traveled to the roof of the house.

The man saw the flames and ran back to the bedroom and yelled for his wife to get out of the house.

Two cars in the garage were destroyed, along with some jewelry in the trunk.

The wife said the smoke alarm went off shortly after 2 a.m. Monday, but they were able to grab their two dogs and get outside. One of the dogs had singed hair from the fire.
