FBI arrests man accused of beating cousin to death in Tulsa

Kyle Freeman arrested after Creek County deputies found him in Sapulpa

A man is in FBI custody in connection with the death of another man at a north Tulsa home late Thursday night.

The FBI arrested Kyle Freeman around midnight after Creek County deputies found him in Sapulpa in connection with the death of 35-year-old Donald Thomas, Jr.

Tulsa police say Thomas died after being hit with a water key several times at the home near Admiral and Yale.

Freeman allegedly beat Thomas to death with the water key.

Police say Freeman, and Thoman -- who are both cousins and roommates -- got into an argument that turned violent.

Family members confirmed Freeman is Native American, making this case fall under federal jurisdiction.

Freeman’s arrest report says he was taken into custody for murder.

Thomas’ sister said when she got the call about his death, she couldn’t believe it.

“I really couldn’t believe it,” Howell said. “I just couldn’t believe it and I still can’t. I’m just trying to stay strong for my mom.”
