Fake cop sexually assaults woman in Sand Springs

Police say you can call 911 to make sure the officer is real

Officials said was pulled over by a white Tahoe around 9:15 p.m. Thursday night near S. Spruce.

The woman told police the vehicle had lights on top and on the grill. The suspect approached her in all black and identified himself as a Sand Springs police officer.

She gave him her license and insurance information. Cops say the man went to his SUV, then came back to the victims car and groped her. The woman told officers the man had a cloth badge sewn onto his shirt and light bars on his SUV's top and grille.

Police said that if anyone sees a suspicious vehicle or knows who is responsible, please call 911.

The woman described the man as thin and white, with spiked hair and driving a white SUV.

Officials recommend that if you are pulled over by a vehicle and you aren't sure if its an officer, call 911 and continue to drive to a well-lit area.
