Election day in Oklahoma, many school bond issues up for vote

Voter turnout will likely be very light Tuesday, but school boards across the state hope to get bonds passed.

In Tulsa County, Union Public Schools have the largest bond issue on the ballot, totaling some $20.4 million.

The money would play for a new fine arts wing at the 6th and 7th Grade Center, a new track and locker rooms at the high school, and about $2 million in new textbooks.

The Berryhill, Broken Arrow, and Liberty districts each have a school board race on the ballot.

Jenks hopes to pass two bond issues, a $10.8 million proposition to pay for physical improvements and maintenance, and a $700,000 bond for transportation.

The Tulsa County Election Board has sample ballots and a precinct locator.
