Eight refugees land in Tulsa

Wed, March 15, 2017 — Just two days before President Donald Trump's revised ban goes into effect, eight Burmese refugees arrived at the Tulsa International Airport on Tuesday.

The two families were reunited with family members.  They also received support from a group

of onlookers.

“America needs to welcome those who need to have freedom and need to prosper,” the girl said.

KRMG spoke with one girl who doesn't know either family, but felt the need to show her support.

Currently, there are 80 refugees in the Tulsa area.

KRMG has learned those who book their travel before 12:01 a.m. on March 16 will be able to travel by March 30.
