Driver slams into Muskogee Turnpike toll booth

OHP: Turnpike attendant, driver hospitalized

Two people are hospitalized after a car crashes into a Muskogee Turnpike toll booth.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol dispatcher Deena Holloway tells us the accident happened early this morning at the toll booth located south of Muskogee.

"Vehicle one was southbound on the Muskogee Turnpike at a high rate of speed and it collided with a southbound toll booth," Holloway said.

The turnpike lanes are back open while repairs are being made.

We're told toll booth attendant Gail Estep and the driver, Don Miller of Broken Arrow, were hospitalized in stable condition.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority tells KRMG a spare toll booth was brought in from the Turner Turnpike to replace the damaged one.
