The driver was pulled over for an undisclosed charge. But once police looked inside the car, they found 53 slithering reasons.
There in the car were 53 king cobras all in green sacks being transported by a man making less than $50.00 for doing it.
Officer Dang Van Hanh in Hanoi said the snakes meat is considered a delicacy in Vietnam.
King cobras aren’t just deadly, they’re big. They are the world’s longest venomous snake at up to 18 feet in length. They're also still used in some traditional medicines.
It’s also illegal to hunt or trade the reptiles so the driver was arrested.
The man will go to jail while the snakes will be released back into the wild.
