9 dead in bus, tractor-trailer collision

Drivers, seven students on trip to visit college campus

One high school student says he was trying to get some sleep on a bus when he felt it shake and heard a "loud boom."

Eighteen-year-old Steven Clavijo says, "We knew we were in major trouble."

The student from West Ranch High School in Canta Clarita, Calif., was one of a group of students involved in a deadly and fiery crash on Interstate 5 near Orland Thursday.

Their bus was struck by a FedEx tractor-trailer and both vehicles burst into flames, killing the drivers and seven students who were on a trip to visit a college campus.
