Dad moves daughter’s furniture to driveway in an attempt to get her to clean her room

Honor student now has her furniture back

Craig Schlichenmeyer asked his daughter to clean her room repeatedly.

When she wouldn’t listen, he got fed up.

“One day I had enough of it, and I just picked up her belongings, and I set her room up in the driveway.”

Alongside, he used sheets of plywood to make giant signs. “Haley, room moved to driveway. Clean it next time,” the spray-painted message said.

While the honor student was at school, he put her desk, bed, computer, bookcase, chairs, and other assorted items outside.

The father, who is a solider based at Fort Stewart, Georgia even gave Haley some extra motivation.

He told WSAV while the room was empty, he had it painted. Schlichenmeyer says he and Haley have talked about the situation and have come to a truce.

“She’s a great student, honor roll student, and we’re proud of her,” Craig said smiling. “It was just a issue of her room being clean.”
