Crews work a large church fire overnight

A church catches fire late Saturday evening and crews continued into the morning to put it out.

Claremore fire department say the First Presbyterian Church caught fire around 10 p.m. and is heavily damaged.

At one point, the wind caused embers from the blaze to blow over onto nearby homes.  Crews say they sprayed homes and a gym to make sure the church fire wouldn't spread.

A witness at the scene called KRMG stating lightning may have played a part, but crews are not confirming a cause as of early Sunday morning.

Also, no reports of any serious injuries as of early Sunday morning.
