Coweta firefighters to stay in mobile home until new fire station is built

The City of Coweta announced the purchase of a mobile home for fighters to live and work out of until the new fire station is built and ready for use.

Firefighters had been staying in a hotel after mold was discovered in the current fire house.

According to the City of Coweta, the city council approved the purchase of a 2,100 sq. ft., 4 bedroom mobile home. The home will be located between the water towers behind the existing fire station.

The city said it should be delivered within 10 days.

“It is necessary to preserve the peace, health, and safety of all Coweta citizens for the firefighters to be located as close as possible to their equipment and apparatus (engines and ambulances).” The city wrote on Facebook.

After the new fire station is built, the mobile home will be removed from the site.
