Costco is coming to Tulsa

Expected to open in 2015

The big box store will be located in south Tulsa at 103rd & Memorial. Costco says Tulsa was chosen as home for the first store in Oklahoma because the community fits who their customers are.

“We feel this area has got the demographic base of customers who are similar to other customers we have in other communities.” Costco Representative Steve McArthur told KRMG.

The store is expected to open by the summer of 2015, but that depends on how fast the City of Tulsa gets the construction plans approved.

Costco reps hinted that there may be a second location coming to Tulsa down the road.

Costco will be hiring mostly local, new employees. Starting pay is right around $11.50 per hour, but tenured employees, even cashiers, can earn up to $21 per hour.
