Claremore couple arrested in unique child abuse case

A couple in Claremore were recently taken into custody for child abuse in connection with a photo they posted on Snapchat.

Police report Paul Chuckluck and Johnnie Gaghins placed a 9-month-old in a mesh laundry bag and hung the bag from a door handle. The couple then took a picture of the baby and posted it on social media.

An officer explains why this is child abuse.

The child was not injured and is currently in the care of a family member. At last check, the couple is still in jail.

"Child abuse takes many forms," police said. "It's also about the welfare of the child and threatening harm. Sometimes, it's placing that child in a dangerous situation."
