City to use ‘eminent domain’ to buy properties near downtown

Tulsa, Okla. — The City of Tulsa will use eminent domain to buy some properties for a water retention project to reduce flooding downstream.

The homes are between 4th & 6th from Madison to Owasso.

Money from the 2014 Improve Our Tulsa bond issue will be used to pay for the project.

Officials hope to have the properties purchased during the next two years.
