City to slow condemnation process in Pearl District

Tulsa, Okla. — City officials are slowing down the condemnation process between 4th and 6th Streets and from Madison to Owasso Avenue.

The city wants to use property there for a detention pond as a way to mitigate severe flooding.

Many homeowners are fighting the idea.

Officials say they are not going to proceed until they have a good plan that everyone understands.

The city is delaying the use of imminent domain before any more houses are taken.

We're told a meeting will be scheduled soon to get more input from property owners and to give them more information.
