The City of Tulsa hosted its final naturalization ceremony of 2021 Thursday.
Twenty people from 13 countries became U.S. citizens.
These individuals came from Burma, Ethiopia, India, Laos, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Russia, United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
Since April 2019, the City has hosted 24 ceremonies with 596 having naturalized to date. In 2021 the City of Tulsa has hosted 10 naturalization ceremonies, including Tulsa’s first Child Citizenship Ceremony where we celebrated 25 children who received citizenship at Gathering Place, and Tulsa’s second drive-in naturalization ceremony where we celebrated 58 new U.S. citizens at the historical Admiral Twin Drive-in theater.
The event marked the city surpassing the 600th person to be naturalized at a ceremony hosted in Tulsa.
During this ceremony, the Tulsa Fire Department will participate in the presentation of colors, Mayor Bynum will serve as the keynote speaker, and volunteers from League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa will be present to help citizens register to vote.
