Christmas musical puts 'flamboyantly gay perspective' on Book of Genesis

Oklahoma City group plans musical for December

The Christmas production by The Oklahoma City Theatre Company is called “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told.”

The story follows “Adam and Steve” after they meet in the Garden of Eden and eventually meet a pair of lesbians named Jane and Mabel.

The work is described as a satirical look at many Bible stories.

Fisher calls the play a “direct frontal attack on Christians.”

But Oklahoma state representative Dan Fisher is fighting the production telling The Daily Oklahoman "there's a difference between satire and pornography, this is pornography."

At least one sponsor told KOCO in Oklahoma City they won't support the musical.

"Based on our grant criteria, the Oklahoma Arts Council is not providing funding for the production of "The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told," Marketing Director Joel Gavin said.

The musical is scheduled for the city owned Civic City Music Hall in OKC from December 5th through the 22nd.

City officials say they can’t stop the play from being presented on city property.
