Chris Christie says "I'm a damn good Republican"

Jersey governor was asked about conservative support in 2016

The New Jersey Governor made the comment after being asked how he figures in the 2016 presidential election. The actual question was “what Republican Party do you see that would support your candidacy right now?

The interview was with Brian Williams for NBC’s Rock Center and Christie wasted no time in answering.

“I’m a damn good Republican,” he began. “But that does not mean that I would ever put a party before my state or a party before my country.”

“I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about it,” Christie commented. “Because in my heart, I know I did what was right. And all I did was compliment someone who was doing their job well.”

Williams went on to ask Christie what political price he may have paid when he looked friendly with president Obama after Hurricane Sandy.

The governor didn’t give any indication on his plans in 2016.
