Charges re-filed in Tulsa hate crime case

Tulsa County DA’s office will pursue the case

Stuart Manning was arrested late last year after attacking a woman for apparently parking to close to him.

Manning apparently hit a middle-eastern woman in the forehead, vandalized her car all while repeatedly calling her a “Muslim b***.”

He was charged in January, but the charged were dropped in February to give the US Attorney’s office a chance to pursue the case at the federal level. It has now been decided that the state will pursue the case.

“There are cases that come over here weekly in which we try to make a decision whether it’s best to prosecute at the state level or federal level.” Drummond said.

First Assistant District Attorney Doug Drummond told KRMG it’s not unusual for this kind of thing to happen.

A date has not been set for Manning’s trial, but the DA’s office anticipates it to start sometime this summer.
