Changes coming to construction on downtown loop

TULSA, Okla.0 — Construction on the Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL) is progressing and lane shifts are happening this week.

On the south leg of the IDL, the westbound lanes will open. This will allow traffic coming into downtown Tulsa on the Broken Arrow Expressway to continue west, rather then being forced to exit northbound on Highway 75.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) said the eastbound lanes will close between I-244 and Highway 75 until further notice. This means drivers on the west side of downtown using I-244/Highway 75 in either direction will not be able to connect with the south leg of the loop.

On the east leg of the IDL, all lanes of Highway 75 southbound will open, but the northbound lanes will close from the 7th St. off ramp to I-244.

Additionally, the northbound Highway 75/eastbound Broken Arrow Expressway on-ramps from Houston Ave., 13th and Denver Ave. on the south leg of the IDL will be closed until further notice.

Traffic connecting to northbound Highway 75 on the east leg from the Broken Arrow Expressway will be forced to exit at 7th St. ODOT said traffic needing access to northbound US-75 should follow the west and north legs around the IDL.

ODOT told KRMG these changes will be happening through Wednesday.

Other closures:

  • All lanes of Houston Ave. are closed under US-75/US-64/SH-51 (south leg of the IDL) through summer 2019.
  • 13th St. is narrowed between Cincinnati Ave. and Newport Ave. (under south leg of the IDL) until further notice.
