So-called 'dirty dentist' agrees to surrender license

The Tulsa man is accused of infecting patients with uncleanly practices

(TULSA) - Dr. Scott Harrington told the Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry Friday that he would agree to never practice in Oklahoma again.

Thousands of his patients were tested for HIV, Hepatitis B and hepatitis C in 2013.

Health leaders say workers at Dr. Harrington's office didn't properly sterilize tools and some of the instruments were rusty.

Harrington's attorney previously released this statement to KRMG:

"For almost 35 years, Dr. Harrington has provided Oklahomans with dedicated oral surgical care.  His previous record with the dental board is impeccable.  He is taking the recent allegations very seriously and is fully cooperating with the Oklahoma Dental Board.  At this time, out of respect for his patients and the sensitivity of the issues, Dr. Harrington will make no further comment on this matter."
