Burglar strangles dog, woman grabs board and smacks thief

An attempted burglary victim takes action when she says the suspect put her dog in a chock hold near Pine and Lewis Ave. Monday night.

Cops were called to the home after the victim says Donald Ray Bell ripped the screen off of a house window and tried to climb inside.

The homeowner was inside and told Bell she didn’t want him there.

An arrest report from the officer on the scene shows that’s when the woman and her dog went outside to confront the man.

Bell let go of the dog when the woman says she hit him with a board.

Police say Bell was intoxicated and walking nearby when they arrested him.

He was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on first-degree burglary, animal cruelty and public intoxication complaints.

Bell does have a criminal past, including second-degree burglary.
