Broken Arrow police warn of IRS phone scam

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — The Broken Arrow Police Department is warning of another phone scam.

BAPD told KRMG an employee of the police department received a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS.

According to police, the caller threatened to arrest the BAPD employee if the call wasn’t returned.

If you get a call like this, police say you shouldn’t call the number back. Instead, call the IRS directly to verify.

Police said scams like this are common between January and April 15th, tax day.
