British company considers buying Spirit Aerosystems in Tulsa

One day after layoffs were announced at Spirit Aerosystems, we hear rumors of a possible buyer.

Reuters international news agency says British aerospace and car parts maker GKN is interested in buying the factory.

Britain's Daily Mail newspaper reported Thursday speculation about a bid for the company intensified this week.

KRMG called Spirit Aerosystems for comment on the layoffs.

Their sources weren't released because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

There are about 3,000 workers at the Tulsa plant.

A company spokesperson would not say how many workers are losing their jobs at the Tulsa plant.
