A massive fire at a Tulsa business on Tuesday led to a huge response from the Tulsa Fire Department.
Firefighters were called to the three-alarm blaze at Fischer Bros. Office Supply around 1:30 p.m. near 6th and Utica.
It took several hours and dozens of firefighters, including some that were called in while off duty, to get the fire under control.
Owner Eric Marshall told KRMG he watched in amazement as firefighters did everything they could to prevent the blaze from spreading to his business.
The fire started in the building adjacent to Marshall Brewing Company’s Tap Room.
“There were 60+ firefighters literally frozen.” Marshall said.
It was 11° in Tulsa with a wind chill of 1° with snow on the ground while firefighters fought the blaze.
Marshall said his building sustained water and smoke damage, plus a hole in the wall firefighters knocked out to access the fire. He said several firefighters apologized they couldn’t do more.
“I was blown away because I was like, you literally risked your life to save my business.” Marshall said. “Kudos to them.... It was an honor to watch those brave men and women do what they do.”
Marshall posted several pictures of the damage inside the tap room.
There is good news for fans of Marshall’s products, you can still get it.
“Production will not be interrupted while we will figure out what to do next with the taproom.” Marshall wrote on Facebook.
