TULSA — Students and teachers at Bixby Public Schools will return in person next Monday through Friday, but the district and the board have not decided what will happen after that.
For good reason, as Superintendent Rob Miller explained to KRMG Tuesday: It’s hard to plan ahead in a pandemic.

So, by the end of the week, he plans to announce how the district will proceed after January 15th.
“We presented to the school board before the break three different options, based on covid conditions - cases, and trends. Either things are getting worse, things are kind of generally stabilizing, or things got better,” Miller said.
Meanwhile, he hopes parents understand that the pandemic continues, and could get worse.
“We still have to be prepared to move to and from distance learning as needed, because the logistics of trying to keep our schools operational in the midst of a pandemic that is still going pretty strong are pretty difficult, and so we’re gonna just have to continue to be flexible, and do the best we can.”
